The Young Warriors is a relatively old (2006) Chinese drama about the Yang family, that (allegedly) produced several great generals during the Song Dynasty. So I was finally crazy and watched Chinese Paladin. And I'm actually pretty glad I watched the series out of order and that this was the final one in the series I saw.
